Xavier began practicing law in 2009 with a premier Atlanta-based national law firm, where his practice focused on professional liability defense and commercial litigation. In 2014, he left that firm and joined the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Alabama as a federal prosecutor. As an AUSA, Xavier honed his trial skills prosecuting white collar crime, civil rights abuses, and violent crime. Xavier organized and led complex investigations involving fraud, theft, and embezzlement from individuals, companies and government entities. He also investigated and prosecuted cases involving law enforcement officer misconduct and civil rights violations by members of law enforcement agencies. Xavier served as both the Civil Rights Coordinator and the Human Trafficking Coordinator for the USAO for the Northern District of Alabama. His time at the United States Attorney’s Office allowed him to further develop his love for advocating on behalf of victims.
